The OJT
- improve the dental student’s communication skills;
- immerse the dental student in an actual dental practice;
- give an avenue for self-evaluation; and
- serve as an awareness into the challenges in their impending practice.
After the OJT, the students are required to pass a portfolio containing the following:
- Certificate of Completion;
- Daily Time Record;
- Videos;
- Pictures; and
- Journal Entries or Write-ups.
In addition, the students should impart what they have learned regarding the ASEAN Integration and the ASEAN Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA).
Likewise, the whole program should abide by RA9484 (Philippine Dental Act of 2007). Furthermore, the clinician is only allowed to work within the scopes and limitations given by the SWU - College of Dentistry.
